Little Apples Quilt - In progress

I am pretty excited for this quilt. It is featuring Aneela Hoey's Little Apples collection. I am making this pattern. I did increase the size of individual blocks. I ended up cutting the strips to be 3", 5", and 1.5". At this point I have all the blocks made. Here is a sneak peek:

These are the fabrics for border, sashing, backing, and binding.

I just love those prints!

I tried to fussy cut the prints to showcase them better.

I really do think that this pattern was a perfect choice for this line. I am able to showcase the prints really well! I am excited for the final product!

Summer Sampler: Blocks 2 & 3

Block 2: Star of Virginia
I made the star using geese units, using a single unit for white as opposed to HSTs. It did turn out quite well, even though there was some waste.

Block 3: Star
This was a paper pieced block. It took me a while to get this correctly, but I am quite happy with how it turned out.

The only problem is the scaling was messed up when I was printing the templates, so this block ended up being 11.75" x 11.75" instead of 12.5" x 12.5". I guess I will need to add a small border onto it, because my other 2 blocks are the correct size.

Summer Sampler: Block 1

I am taking another quilting class at my local quilting store, and I decided to use this Summer Sampler as my class project. We are free to pick whatever pattern we want, I picked that one because it involves paper piecing, which I am not really familiar with. I started making a paper-pieced block in class last week, but in the mean-time I put together this greek square block:

The line I am using is: Summer House by Lily Ashbury

Sophie Lemonade Lollipop

All my blocks are made! I think they turned out quite well!

And here is a closeup of one of the blocks:

The more I worked with it, the more I liked the Sophie line by Chez Moi for Moda. The vibrancy of color in the red fabric in the pinwheel middle of the block above is awesome. The blue pink red combo was also very pretty. Now on to piecing the top!

Quilting Bee: Block 10

Kris sent us some fabrics from the Ruby collection to make this very cute block:

It was so easy to make and I love how it turned out!

January Work in Progress

A bunch of the quilt blogs I am following do Work in Progress wednesday. Well, every wednesday is a bit too frequent for me, I would have the same post week to week. So my plan is to do one the first weekend of every month, so here is where I am at the moment:

Postage Stamp Quilt
I made all the strips, cut them up, and I am working on putting the blocks together. There are 48 block to make and it takes a while. I can only do about 6 per day. Here are a couple of pictures:

Sophie Lemonade Lollipop
I started cutting up the fabrics for this. Aren't they pretty?

Katya's Pinwheel Quilt
I finished the quilting! Yay! I am working on attaching the binding, which is always the longest part for me, because I do it by hand. I hope to finish it soon and post pictures!

No progress on anything else :(
